DESIGNING BUNJIL PLACE
Want to know what it took to bring this breathtaking piece of architecture to life?
Designing Bunjil Place is an exhibition that celebrates and reflects upon the making of Bunjil Place whilst showcasing the multi-award winning architectural practice of Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp (fjmt).
Through a variety of two and three-dimensional materials including architectural and construction drawings, models, building fragments, photography and video you can get a behind the scenes look at fjmt studio’s working methods and creative processes. We reveal how ideas are transformed into reality through a process of research, collaboration and hands-on investigation.
HIP HOP WORKSHOP
Kick it with the raddest b-boys in town with all the tricks and flips. Drop in to give our new black-box studio a test run with a follow-the-leader style class that would make Kanye quiver.
SNAP! CRACKLE! POP!
For the pop-addicted, the pleasure popper, the pop-as-you-wrap popper, this workshop (using A LOT of biodegrable bubble wrap), is about creating and playing with a bubble wrap puppet. Brought to you by the good-timers at Barking Spider Visual Theatre, this fun workshop is full of play, invention, collaboration and POPPING!
DUO101
Here’s our hot tip, hit Food Truck Alley for a burger then kick back outside to Duo 101. Hailing from here in the south east, Sacha Pollard and Chris Annable will bring all the good vibes to our Plaza with this chilled-out acoustic guitar and vocal pairing.
DROP BY DRAWING
Swing on down to our Plaza and join local artist Gino Ciancio for informal sketching of Bunjil Place. Spend as much or as little time as you like sketching the architecture of the building and its surrounds. Whether you’re a pro or giving something new a whirl, everyone is welcome. Stick figures are okay too!
