ngaratya (together, us group, all in it together) brings together six Barkandji/Barkindji artists; Nici Cumpston, Zena Cumpston, David Doyle, Kent Morris, Adrianne Semmens, and Raymond Zada.
Indigenous science, Indigenous plant knowledge, water, cultural practice, caring for and connection to Country, food sovereignty and traditional foodways, Indigenous technologies, innovation, storytelling, artistic practice, ecological knowledge, sustainable practice, belonging, ancestral connection, language, Aboriginal histories and family.
Whilst ngaratya is a visual arts exhibition, learning areas explored include Science, The Humanities, The Arts, Languages and Technologies. The education program has been designed for a wide audience and invites critical and creative thinking, ethical explorations as well as seeking to build intercultural, personal and social capabilities.
The exhibition curators, Nici and Zena Cumpston (Barkandji) invite educators to join them on Monday 15 May at 6.00 pm to gain a deeper understanding of the exhibition, the themes explored and the broad range of learning opportunities it offers.
