Magical and meaningful, IMAGINE LIVE is a celebration of creativity, friendship and our precious natural world.

With the help of the audience, performers play and sing their way through the pages of Alison Lester’s iconic best-selling book, and quickly discover there is WAY more to these pages than they first thought.

Spot a leopard, dive with a dolphin or dig up a dinosaur as this iconic book springs into life before your eyes.

IMAGINE LIVE combines live action and animation with digital puppetry in a large-scale, multi-screen performance. Underscored by original music, characters and objects travel between real and animated worlds, responding in real time to audience input. Beautiful and meaningful, IMAGINE LIVE is a celebration of the transformative power of creativity.

Created by the multi-award winning team from Robot Song, IMAGINE LIVE is an interactive musical performance for families... Nanas are especially welcome!

“It’s EXQUISITE! So rich, real, layered and perfect for kids. I kept having to pinch myself that Imagine was my book, I feel so honoured.”
- Alison Lester, Author of ‘Imagine’

“stellar writing, imagination and flawless execution… pushes children of all ages into the all-encompassing delight of unbridled imagination, while allowing parents to bask in that glee” ★★★★☆ (4.5 stars)
- ArtsHub

“…delightfully charming and I loved how interactive it was… The whole show was full of wonder, and all the kids, including me, were screeching answers with joy… It was like the book came to life right before our eyes. If you get a chance to see ‘Imagine Live’, you should definitely go. It’s a show you’ll always remember & it will almost certainly make you want to leave with a copy of the book!”
- Penelope Quinn, 7 y.o. roving reporter for TheTheatre.au website

“Alison Lester’s book… is clearly the catalyst for a beautiful exploration of imagination and the natural world, including the Australian landscape. It is also an exploration of that central defining environment – ‘home’. This show is well worth the money for children and adults alike – treat yourself and the children in your life”
- Karyn Lee Greig, Theatre Matters
