PERFORMERS

CATH RUTTEN
Cath is a musician, singer, a choir leader, and artistic director. She’s an actor, a juggler and above all a collaborator. She has toured the world and the country performing. She is a mother and a wife, a daughter and a sister. She’s a song writer and a balladeer. For the past twenty years, she’s had the privilege of working with diverse communities through art, music and theatre. She loves collaborating with neuro diverse artists, and people of diverse abilities and is passionately curious about the intersection of arts and health because she believes that human beings are innately artistic, and that music and art are vital to living well!

PAUL DAVIES
Paul started his performative life as a busker at age 12, Paul has been in various bands, singing covers and originals for the last twenty or so years. He is the lead singer of his long-term originals project, The Anti-Fall Movement, which blends Americana and Prog’ with nods to acts such as The Band, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, and the War on Drugs. Paul has been performing with James since the early 2000s, from a covers’ residency at The Rochester Hotel, to the Indie Folk band The Tealeaves to the more recent Music Legends series – The Billy Joel Story and now, American Troubadours.

ERIC VAN CUYLENBURG
Eric has been singing in a variety of disciplines for over fifty years. In the late sixties and through the seventies, he sang in many folk coffee lounges and bars around Melbourne, as a soloist, in duo’s and trios. During that time, Eric also appeared on stage as a lead performer in many amateur theatre productions. The eighties saw him expand into more contemporary music for the time, singing in restaurants, hotels and special events. Eric is still heavily involved in music, performing at Farmers Markets, at the Mornington Music Festival, entertaining at many senior citizen functions and singing with one or more members of his own family.

JAMES VAN CUYLENBURG
James grew up in a home surrounded by music. His parents were original generation folkies, true 70’s troubadours, and taught their kids a love of the same. From an early age, James took to the piano and quickly learned to play by ear, ultimately learning to play hundreds of songs from that classic era, and idolising artists such as Cat Stevens, Simon and Garfunkel and Billy Joel. Performing these songs is always enjoyable for James, but creating this show, alongside family and friends, has been a true pleasure.
