Families are invited to join us at Bunjil Place to work together to create a woven creation at this hands-on weaving workshop. Led by Australian Tapestry Workshop weaver Amy Cornall, try basic weaving and play with a range of colourful materials including wool offcuts, recycled fabric and paper.
Places limited; bookings essential. Children must be aged 8+. All Materials provided. No experience necessary.
About your teaching artist
Amy Cornall is a highly experienced senior weaver at the Australian Tapestry Workshop. Amy first started at the ATW in 2004, while completing an Honours Degree of Bachelor of Fine Art (Tapestry) through Monash University. She has worked on a number of major tapestries, including Plant Song, 2020, designed by Janet Laurence, Bridle Track, Hill End, 2019, designed by Luke Sciberras for Bathurst Regional Art Gallery, Alice Bayke, 2008, designed by Yvonne Todd for Queensland Art Gallery and Abstract Structure, 2007, designed by Roger Kemp for the National Gallery of Victoria. Cornall has received the Tapestry Foundation of Victoria award on two occasions for her solo work – once for her graduate work in 2003 and again for her entry in the international open exhibition 'Land', held in Canberra in May 2008 and has participated in over 20 group exhibitions.
