From Film Theory to Media Production

These short, non-fiction films are selected from projects created in 2022 as part of Monash University’s Film and Screen Studies 3rd-year class, Screen Project: From Film Theory to Media Production. 
Students work in small groups to develop their own documentary idea that explores the boundaries of formal approaches that reference various histories and theories of film. Three of the films in this showcase were nominated for national industry accolades at the 2022 Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM) Awards, with Facing Deep Fears winning its category that year.
