The summer school holidays are nearly here - long days, warm nights, and two months of keeping the kids entertained. No need to worry, with free crafts, movie nights, sports and fitness, amazing shows and our awesome new exhibition open, the phrase 'I'm bored' won't even be in their vocabulary!

Check out our summer school holidays round up below and start planning! We'll also have the water fountains running every day from 9.00 am until 8.00 pm, so be sure to bring your swimmers for a splash!

DECEMBER 2019

  • FREE: Pixel Party: Interactive Blockwith Project - Daily from Monday 2 - Tuesday 24 December 2019, 11.00 am - 1.00 pm & 4.00 pm - 6.00 pm
    Create an avatar and watch it interact in a digital world (on the big screen) every day this December as part of our Pixel Party!
  • FREE: Hoops of Fun For Kids - Thursday 5, 12 & 19 December 2019, 4.30 pm - 5.30 pm
    Let the kiddies get their wiggle on with free afternoon hula hoop sessions in the Plaza. They can get moving with cool hula tricks while you kick back with a latte from the cafe. It's win-win!
  • FREE: Festive Fun and Craft! - Friday 6, 13 & 20 December 2019, 3.30 pm - 5.30 pm
    Join us over three Fridays as we celebrate the silly season with FREE Festive Fun in the Plaza. Activities include: Arts and Craft, Food Craft and Roving Characters
  • FREE: Home/Land: Project Another Country in the Gallery - Saturday 14 December 2019 - Sunday 8 March 2020, Tuesday- Sunday 10.00 am - 5.00 pm daily 
    Created from thousands of handmade houses using recycled cardboard boxes, Home/Land: Project Another Country is international artists Isabel and Alfredo Aquilizan's latest large-scale installation of imagined habitats. Come see hundreds of small cardboard homes made by the Casey community, or add your own in our free assemblage workshops running through the exhibition period.
  • FREE: Summer of Sport: Boxing Day Test - Thursday 26 - Monday 30 December 2019, 9.00 am - 5.00 pm daily
    Does your kid love the bat and ball? A hot summer of sport kicks of with the Domain Boxing Day Test - live on the BIG Screen. HOWZAT!?!?! Pretty good we think.
     

JANUARY 2020

    Come shake your tail feather on our very own public dance floor! Plug in your device and boogie or pull up a pew and cheer on your mates!

    NGV returns in 2020 with a truck load of art'n'craft fun for kids (and their bigs) to enjoy!

    Crazy experiments and astounding science facts - Dr Chris and Dr Xand are here to show you all the amazing things your body can do in this live action show!
