Digital Wall Exhibition: The Drawing Machine
The Archibald Prize celebrates portraiture of notable characters and awards artists who seek to know another through observation, expression and technique.
The Drawing Machine is an interactive digital installation created by artist Alex Gibson, that attempts to render a set of notable characters, the viewers themselves. The Drawing Machine does this through kind of mechanical observation and technique - and the expression it makes is still all too human.
As the audience enters Bunjil Place they too will become subject and collaborator with the artist Alex, to produce the beginning of a painting. A quick sketch of them entering Bunjil Place to see the Archibald Prize.
The Drawing Machine will exhibit on the Digital Wall in the Bunjil Place Foyer 2 September - 17 October 2022.
