New Ground 2023 Commission Program - Open from Saturday 4 February to Monday 20 March 2023.

Bunjil Place is seeking applications for the second round of New Ground, a funded commission program for local early to mid-career creatives to develop new work/projects responding to the provocation “borders and boundaries”. Outcomes, whether they be digital work, performance, written and/or spoken words, exhibition, film or other, will be presented at Bunjil Place precinct mid-September 2023.  

We welcome creatives to use this opportunity to expand an arts-based practice and explore new ways of working, while creating high-quality outcomes and experiences.

Proposals from artists, curators, performers and collectives working in any creative background are welcome to apply. Commissioned artists will receive financial support work closely with the Arts Programming team and present at Bunjil Place. 

Commission tiers range from $4,000 to $14,000.

New Ground 2022 saw the creation of six multi-artform projects presented at Bunjil Place, presented in the Studio, Digital Wall and Library. Watch our wrap-up video below:
