Summer Sounds 2024 brings RVG and Jen Cloher to centre stage
The stage is set, the stars are ready to shine, and live, local music will take centre stage when Summer Sounds returns to Bunjil Place on Saturday 24 February 2024.
A marquee event of Bunjil Place’s six-week long Summer Stage festival, Summer Sounds will once again light up the outdoor events precinct with double headliners RVG and Jen Cloher, supported by Play Lunch.
Summer Sounds is now in its seventh year, delivering an evening of music and entertainment in the heart of Melbourne’s south east.
This year brings something extra special as the outdoor Plaza transforms into a temporary indoor/outdoor events space, surrounded by shipping containers that house food and beverage service areas and covered seating.
Summer Sounds is just one of many remaining events yet to grace the Summer Stage program lineup which runs until Wednesday 28 February. There’s trivia and comedy nights, K-Pop and queer parties, a cabaret spectacular, children’s activities and health and wellness offerings all still be enjoyed under the open sky this summer.

Presented by Music Victoria’s On The Road Again program, Summer Sounds offers an evening of local live music, delicious food and cool drinks - the perfect way to relax and soak up the warm summer night with artists RVG and Jen Choler.
Australian combo RVG, blend lush jangling guitar pop with elements of post-punk, goth, and ’80s college rock. No strangers to the live scene, they've graced stages worldwide, from Meredith Music Festival to Europe and the UK with Shame and Sleaford Mods, USA with Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, and Australia with Kurt Vile, Pixies, and POND.
Songwriter and performer Jen Cloher’s (Ngāpuhi & Ngāti Kahu) taut, terse brand of rock is charged with the static tension that comes with being an eternal misfit; they have spoken truth to power with the shrewd eye that only an outsider can possess. Their incisive, generous songwriting has been admired over the course of five albums, winning a J Award and AIR Award, with ARIA and Australian Music Prize nominations.
