If you’re like us, you’ve probably got a few pieces of clothing sitting in a pile, each with a hole or small rip, that you keep meaning to repair, but you just don’t have the time. Well, this is your sign to break out the hand sewing needle and grab some coloured thread.
This month’s Wednesday Night Workshop is an opportunity to bring some creative flair to a much-loved clothing item in need of a little repair. Over the course of two hours, you will be guided through a range of visible mending techniques that will breathe new life into your gently worn clothing. There will be sample pieces to practice your stitching techniques, before you try your hand at repairing your own item.
Your teaching artist Yaz Gaté will be on hand to demonstrate techniques and key steps, with plenty of time for you to experiment on your own. The usual snacks and drinks will be available to keep the energy high. Join us on a Wednesday night and spend some time learning new skills whilst getting to know like minded people from your local area.
Please bring an item from home in need of repair. Denim, cotton, and knitwear are all good places to start your visible mending journey.
Other materials and light refreshments provided.
Strictly 18+.
