The Wharf Revue: Can of Worms

The Wharf Revue is setting out to sea again on a journey of satirical discovery - but this time under its own steam. All hands on deck for a daring adventure as they navigate the dire Straits of Covid, sail round the treacherous Horn of Scomo, steer well clear of the empty Cape of Pauline, only to be becalmed in the Nationals Bermuda Jacket Triangle before stumbling across a New World, filled with hope and promise! Or not.

Melbourne International Comedy Festival - Neighbourhood Sessions

Over four big weekends, some of Melbourne’s favourite local venues - including Bunjil Place - will come alive with the Neighbourhood Sessions. Chock full of favourites, and a great look at what’s hot through the Festival, these shows will keep you laughing all the (short) way home. This year we are so excited to welcome Carl Donnelly, Kirsty Webeck, Takashi Wakasugi, Emma Holland and Dahn Rozario to the Bunjil Place stage for a night of laughs!

12 Angry Men

Following the closing arguments in a murder trial, the 12 members of the jury must deliberate, with a guilty verdict meaning death for the accused, an inner-city teen. As the jury tries to reach a unanimous decision while locked in a room, one juror begins to cast doubt on elements of the case. Personal issues soon rise to the surface, and conflict threatens to derail the delicate process that will decide the fate of the accused.

Presented by Windmill Theatre Company.

Black Cockatoo

Over 150 years ago, 13 brave Aboriginal men in Western Victoria picked up their cricket bats and embarked on a treacherous voyage to England and into the unknown – all in the name of sport. Risking illness and persecution, Australia’s first international cricket team – including Australia's first Indigenous sporting hero, Johnny Mullagh – amazed the English crowds with astonishing talent, personality and grit. They should have returned to Australia as celebrated heroes. Instead they came back to find the world they once knew was no longer there.

Following sold out seasons at the Sydney Opera House and theatres across the country, the play based on Andy Griffiths’ and Terry Denton’s best-selling book returns to the stage AND YOU’RE INVITED!
